Hamilton Kinetic Type
Hamilton is the popular musical about the life of Alexander Hamilton and the founding of America. It's a history lesson in the form of catchy and complex music and lyrics.
I chose to focus my type piece on the song Farmer Refuted, which is a lyrical duel between Alexander Hamilton and Samuel Seabury. Hamilton advocates for a revolution while Seabury is a loyalist promoting the continued rule of Great Britain's King.
Bold colors and clean type represent the modern, updated feel that the musical brings to the stage. Purple represents Seabury while Orange represents Hamilton, with both colors being present when the two men's arguments clash and overlap.
